Superior quality example of conventional form with strong straight medial ridge. Raised neck with sharply defined angled junction with the main plate. Rolled edge flared bottom. Double line decorative borders to the neck, arms and base flare. Shallow musket proof to each side. Gold British dealers seal. Constructed of multiple overlapping plates with one shoulder slightly bent and the two clearly evident at that point as well as three showing in at least two places. Original black surface with small loss to the other shoulder. 17" height along ridge. Provenance: Hengrave Hall, near Bury St. Edmund, Suffolk.
