18th Century Ladies Snuff Box

Miniature size, 1/2" x 3/4" x 13/8", black lacquered papier mache with pewter quatrefoil and hound's tooth border to the top. Excellent. Snuff use was common among upper class women. Queen Charlotte, wife of George III was an avid user and had a room at Windsor Castle devoted to various blends of snuff for her use.
