The foliate shape dates back 2000 years to Persia, representing life/fertility. It spread to India through Afghanistan and became popular in India. The textile trade embraced it and its popularity spread through England, notable as the central theme in paisley. Its use here as a woman’s pendant is testimony to its popularity. It is gilt bronze with the 24karat gold surface restored, mounted on an 18” gilt silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
