Jewelry quality, said to be for a chastity belt. Bronze, lute form, 5” plus the key. The body in two pieces with the neck sliding to disengage. The front of the lute finely relief decorated as a bird with exotic plumage forming an oval. The neck with a figure of a musician and the top with a jade cabochon surrounded by Buddhist type clouds. The back with similar figures and a pin and shackle. Original key with “wise elder” head terminal. The only other example found was described as a chastity belt lock. Fine with good age patina.
