VIKING FLINT STRIKER, 9TH-10TH CENTURY AD

$185.00

Elegant example of the Viking blacksmith’s art with the striker bar decorated in a series of punches and crescents on each side, emulating a swag. The top tail folded over and ending with a ripple return. 2 1/4” length. It is interesting, though not studied to our knowledge, that nowhere else in Viking blacksmithing are these subtle and sometimes whimsical details incorporated.
