Charming example just under 7/8” width of evolutionary heart form with cusped top and large trefoil field with a broad scrolled border. Made by the open face mold technique. The heart of a fully developed form with cusped top form in excellent preservation. Surface textured from burial. For Vikings, the heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the warrior. It is said that Hrungnir, with whom Thor dueled (assisted by a sorceress), had a heart of stone. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored on a Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
