Late Viking Ear and showing Anglo-Saxon influence. Forged iron, 5 1/4" in height. The frame shaped to the foot with strap stall at the top and divided foot rest. Stable excavated condition. Vikings were converted to Christianity during the second half of the 11th century and went on to serve in the Crusades. This stirrup is equally identifiable as a Crusader's stirrup.
