Pirates of the Caribbean! SAILOR'S FOLDING KNIFE, 17TH CENTURY

$130.00
Blade only remaining, found in south Florida coast and purchased at a Naples dive shop in the 1990s. 3 3/8" length of elegant curved clipped point form with pivot and suspension ring opposite. Curved slashing edge. Thin section specifically made as a weapon and not a work knife. Stable excavated condition. During the period, merchant and military sailors were largely held against their will and not allowed knives with points. Pirates were generally free, even allowed to vote on the affairs of the ship and crew and carried pointed fighting knives like this.
