Insurrection period. C.1895. 13" recurved s.e. blade flat on the left side with broad edge bevel on the right. The base with decorative banding and edge beading. Stone polished over forged surface with minor smooth staining only. Wood hilt with expanded pommel carved as a highly stylized human face and shows light age encrustation. Two piece scabbard with all five original braided split cane beads and suspension cord. Mottled, the throat relieved for about an inch to accommodate the curvature on the blade. Early example for these.
