Superior quality early example. Intricately detailed hilt and scabbard. The hilt face overlaid in silver, layered in high relief and decorated in scrolling foliage. Two pyramidal bosses and a red stone or glass inlay. The scabbard face silver overlaid and decorated to match. The tip restored in its working life. The reverse finely derailed s well in silver over brass. The silver worn and about 50% intact, attesting to is great age. 8 ¾” curved blade, excellent for the period.
