3 13/16" double-edged blade etched with foliage both sides full length and stamped with maker's mark W & S HORRABINS BEST QUALITY. (weak at the left as struck). One-piece white metal grip with fluted cutlery grip and oval fighting guard. Horrabin is recorded working C.1867 (Sheffield Bowie and Pocket Knife Makers, Ables) at 12 Hedhill St., Sheffield. Typical side knife as carried by virtually every man on the American frontier. Blade shows a very light frosty finish. Hilt shows very good patina and superficial abrasions only.
