Based on the Woodland Indian "crooked knife" which was a universal work knife of ergonomic form. One piece heavy antler grip saw cut to receive the and secure the blade with two rivets. 3 1/2" s.e. blade tapered from sharpening and blunted. Well-worn with great character. Knives of this general type are well documented and wisely only very loosely dated. See Neumann, Minnis and Grant for very numerous examples. 18th-19th century and may be displayed with Colonial collection.
