Would date to about 1800, possibly earlier. 9 1/8” curved wedge section blade with short narrow back fullers. Iron bolster. Bud shaped horn grip. Matching three piece scabbard. The blade does not fully enter the scabbard. Elegant form. See Glossary of the Construction, Decoration and Use of Arms and Armor, Stone, fig. 106 #7. Long prospering from trade owing to their strategic location, the Celebes were colonized by the Dutch in the 19th century.
