The wood hilt with tapered grip, expanded base and mushroom form pommel, very rarely retaining its original leather covering. The Fischer example lacks the covering. Second half of the 19th century. The blade with a little wear from use and pleasing patina. Grip sound with good mottled color, the blind stitched seam sound and light wear to the high spots providing contrasting detail.
