Type used in the Revolution by Colonial troops who fashioned shooting blinds to fire on British troops in formation. Iron, 16” length with hook form blade struck with a maker’s mark (indecipherable, but identical font and size used for English swords and guns of the period). Banded wood grip with flared butt. Unusually complete with fine uniform aging. See Neumann p.118 #4 for a very similar example.
