RARE VIKING WOMAN’S PENDANT NECKLACE 11TH CENTURY AD

$775.00

The period of Conversion and lingering Pagan mythology mixed. Silvered bronze, 2 1/4” total height. Triangular, pierced with three convergent bars above a cross bar hung with three bells. In Scandinavian mythology, Giants and Trolls were not able to stand the sound of church bells which were used to drive them away. So this amulet likely belonged to a sorceress. Among Vikings, only women practiced sorcery.  Surface textured from burial.  Professionally refurbished with the silver surface restored on an 18” Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
