Westward expansion period, C1870-90’s. Blacksmith made with 10 5/8” slightly curved blade made from a file. Forged iron ferrule to the hand carved wood grip. Blade with smooth glossy patina and remnants of file teeth. Grip well preserved with expected wear. Classic as used on the plains by buffalo hunters as well.
