30 3/8” blade finely decorated 3/4 length with Crusades scenes and motifs, crusaders. Holy Land, and owner's name, Memento Mori (skull and crossed bones) on bright gold background. Forte marked CINCINATTI REGALIA CO CINCINNATI O. That company was established in 1895 and this sword dates to about 1900-30. Gilt hilt with eagle on helmet pommel and synthetic ivory grip with monogram and cross. Plated scabbard with high relief modeled mounts including enameled cross and crown with the enamel intact. Excellent quality with expected ageing and evidence of use.
