Ex: Baptist Missionary Society. Collected C.1890-1910.  Forged iron, 24 7/8” length. Leaf shaped point with high medial ridge decorated in three segments of hatched bands flanked by transverse marks. Hammer finished field and beveled edges. Butted seam socket. Showing genuine wear from use and fine deep age patina. Collected as a detached head only and circulated on “mission Sunday” to raise funds for the missions. The collection was retired about 1930 and sold at Christie's London in 1985.
