Silvered bronze of excellent quality. Octagonal with flared radial base and raised center engraved with three cross bands above two stars, probably armorial. The back recessed for an inclusion, probably a lock of hair from a lover. The tradition of giving a hair lock dates back to Roman times. Over 7/8” (0.91”) total height. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver surface renewed. On an 18” modern Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
