Ex Baptist Missionary Society Collection. Finely forged iron head, 22 ½”length with tapered socket which continues on the leaf-shaped point as a strong medial ridge each side. Crisp lamination flaw and frosty gray patina. 56 ¾” overall. Dark natural wood haft with scraped finish. The collection was circulated in England on “Mission Sunday” to demonstrate the barbaric culture which the missionaries were trying to reform and raise funds for the missions. Identification tag not included.
