Early 19th century. Rating among the finest surviving examples for these. 9 1/2” length, molded from a single piece of fine hide, shaped and the seam hand stitched to the highest standard. Decorated throughout. Each side with a single foliate panel, the balance with bands of stylized foliage. Pierced iron suspension mount and crimson securing leathers with tassels. One side perfect. The other slightly deformed from storage and a little surface shaping. These can be reshaped with wet sand packed through the spout. Finest example we’ve seen.
