SPANISH CAVALRY SWORD "1907-18"

Heavy cavalry saber designed in 1907, sometimes called the 1908 pattern, but not issued until 1918. Diced wood scale grips. 35 ½” straight broad fullered blade with Toledo arsenal markings at the forte and serial number. Excellent arsenal condition with heavy original preservative to the blade. The hilt and scabbard (marked TOLEDO) with about all original black surface. Surely served in the Spanish Civil War of 1936-9 in which nearly half a million were killed. Fine display.
