Iron hilt of Shan Jahani form with inverted cusp waisted grip and tiger head knuckle bow terminal. See Indian Arms and Armour Vol II, Pant, fig. 300 for a virtually identical example. The author attributed the improvements in form to Shah Jahan (1592-1666), great Mughal Emperor and warrior who built the Taj Mahal.   32” wedge section blade with long false edge. Quite crisp and bright with minor oxidation speckles to the blade and minor wear expected for its age.  Original black ass skin covered scabbard.
