Northern European, just under 4 ½” (4.46”) length. Evolutionary form from the mid crusades period. Finely forged. Elongated diamond section point on butted seam conical socket Made specifically to pierce mail armor before the use of plate armor, while sacrificing the devastating damage of barbs. See Historical Guide to Arms and Armor, Bull and North, P.70 bottom. Crisp condition with surface patina and texture. The original hammer forged surface preserved. Near crisp and museum quality.
