Seventh Crusade period (1248-1254). See Arms and Armor of the Crusading Era,  Nicolle fig. 84 for a comparable example excavated at Ras Castle, Serbia. 4 3/4" length with finely forged barbed point. The tip with medial ridge and each barb of slightly rounded section with thickened back opposite the cutting edge. Twisted rectangular section bolster and conical socket, chipped at the base. Quite crisp profile. Darkened from burial, the original surface partially intact with expected scattered oxidation. Excellent condition for the period.
