Civil War issue. Standard pattern, The American Sword, Peterson #10. 32" single edged blade, crisp with glossy gray patina. The forte marked by EMERSON & SILVER TRENTON NJ maker and dated 1863 with inspector’s mark. Hilt excellent with storage surface soiling and age patina. Blade gray and crisp with spotty smooth black staining. One short patch about mid, a little heavier, negligible for the period. Excellent Civil War example with rare early date. Iron scabbard uniformly pitted under dark surface. The mounts with minor dents and one screw lacking.
