CHINESE JADE ARCHER’S RING, 17TH-18TH CENTURY

$355.00

Mottled red/brown jade (jadeite), 1.13” height and 1.35” outer diameter. The ends with corresponding bevels. The stone was selected for its uniform pure white color. Contrary to common misinformation, these did not protect the thumb. They facilitated the Mongolian release, with the string engaged on the back edge and sliding off for a release better controlled than the European pinch release.
