Brass, made by the lost wax technique over a core which forms the inside surface. Wax stripes are laid over the core in decorative patterns. The wax is burned out in the firing process and the void filled by the molten brass. Over 4 ¼” diameter (4.29”), 2 ¾” height. Shows ageing with light wear (rubbing) to the high points. Dhokra is a spongy delicacy made from fermented rice based batter. It has been popular since the 11th century or earlier.
