VINTAGE AFRICAN ART STONE CARVING

By noted artist Leonard Mpatila whose work is well represented on the internet and posted in the hundreds of dollars. This small bust is characteristic of his work and is signed and dated ’97 (1997). It is rubbed with the white underlayer showing through in places and a chip to the left eye. Leonard Mpatila is a Zimbabwean Shona Stone Sculpturer. This work is 6 ½” height, in native verdite, a south African gem stone. Needing a little touch up to rank with his other contemporary African art masterpieces.
