Very Rare Zulu Warrior's Pipe, Kudu

$525.00

Anglo-Zulu War of 1885. 8 1/4" length, well carved from a single piece of hardwood with flared tip stem and four bowls, each lined with tin. Surface dry with slight grain opening and a few tiny spatters of "manor house white paint." The only such example with four bowls which we have encountered. Likely the property of a chief to serve a large gathering of warriors. Sharing tobacco was an important ritual by which warriors bonded to form a fighting unit.
