Ebony, 8 5/8" length of flat section with leaf shaped blade and elaborately carved and pierced grip comprising horizontal bars flanking addorsed ovals at the top and support members below. The carving crisp as results from rat teeth in the pre-contact period. The blade with scraped finish as seen on early examples. Crisp condition with light encrustation.
