25” length of iconic form with tapered grip and medially ridged striking head. One side with a back hook (blunted) profusely decorated with panels formed by incised bands, plain, hound’s tooth, and zig-zag.  All with considerable original lime inlay. The opposite with a row of graduated teeth, finely carved, with the terminals chipped to various degrees. It is said that Samoan warriors could wield the nifa otti with rapier-like speed.
