19th century, ex: Webster Collection. 18” length, circular section, tapered, with flattened crest form butt. Shows great age with surface graining, encrustation and opened crack. Ten end with Webster Collection inventory number in white ink. William Webster was a pioneer ethnographic dealer in England, active in the 1890s. He supplied with Pitt-Rivers and other major museum collections from family collections of colonial service bring backs. We have sold many Webster items, acquired in England, over the decades. The condition of this club is as acquired in about 1890, indicating a date of about 1850 or earlier.
