Mid 19th century. 7 1/4" wedge section blade with narrow back fuller. The right side engraved with a floral splay. The left with a short inscription and Hijri date, 1103 which converts to 1691, probably commemorating the Ottoman defeat by the Austrians at the Battle of Slankamen. White metal hilt embossed in bold foliage throughout. Leather bound scabbard with embossed white metal tip mount (tip crushed and damaged) and built up engraved band and wire throat mount. Leather dried and congealed. The hilt excellent. Blade with smooth spotty surface staining only.
