KONDA SLAVER’S SWORD

$460.00

Fischer 313 & 315, ex: Baptist Missionary Society. Sometimes referred to as a "club knife", it is a form specifically used for the capture of slaves, primarily for the human consumption (cannibalism) market as the demand was great and it did not require transporting captives to the east coast Arab market. 18 3/8" length. Skillfully forged blade with raised medial ridge. The edges including the curved forward edge, line banded. The field with surface storage oxidation and a triple line clan mark each side. Wood hilt worn dark glossy patina. This weapon served in the confined quarters where captives were subdued and gathered. It served to control, disable and kill the victims while preserving the marketable corpse. Well used attesting to the horror which it must have inflicted.
