Second half of the 19th century, collected by Baptist missionaries about 1890. 15" trowel shaped blade with raised medial flanked by forge finish segments. Good wood hilt with flared base and especially large wheel form pommel (edge wear) with raised medial. Trade tack decoration to the medial and grip base, one side only. Few tacks missing. Brass and copper wrap to the grip. The blade bright under old preservative. Used in close quarters house raids.
