Second half of the 19th century. Ex: Baptist Missionary Society Collection. 7 ¼” finely forged leaf shaped blade with forged finished incised paled to the forte. Wood grip with iron wire wrap and carved wood scabbard. See Fischer #318. The Konda were among the most proficient and brutal of slavers. Knives like this were used to dispatch victims wounded during raids as well as the old and otherwise unmarketable.
