Brass hilt of Sindhi form, (Pant #301) with slender grip and dished pommel, cast in floral motifs. 31 ½” curved wedge section blade with Indian ricasso. Blade with frosty surface and some nicks toward the point. The hilt with good patina. The Sindh in modern day Pakistan, resisted British subjugation until 1843 and their defeat at Miani and Hyderabad. This sword, made for infantry, is of perfunctory quality, probably produced under the pressure of imminent war with Britain.
