The National weapon of Nepal. Gurkhas are a military culture comprised of various Himalayan ethnic groups including Nepalese and Indian. They trace their roots to the 8th century and fought valiantly and honorably, initially against British colonial troops and then with them. This example is 18” in length with a 13 ½ characteristic angled blade. Black horn hilt with copper pommel plate. Black leather scabbard (tip mount missing) with companion side knives. The face with 75 JOE in faded white paint. The 75 stenciled as with military equipment the JOE hand-lettered. Typical very tight fit to the scabbard. Honest military example that has seen service.
