51 ½” length with medially ridged leaf shaped point on tapered bolster and open seam conical socket. Brown patina on forged finish. Wood haft sized for hand to hand fighting in confined spaces as huts and krals. The surface with scraped (not sanded) finish, later preserved with varnish. From the Baptist Missionary Society Collection sold in London in the 1980’s. The varnish applied when it was in the collection to preserve it from repeated handling.
