Probably Songye. 11 ½” overall with short wood haft for close quarter’s fighting as within huts. Finely forged tapered bit with notched edges and incised geometry. The haft with similar geometric decoration. The butt with a lanyard loop to prevent loss in battle. Collected by the Baptist Missionary Society (England) in the late 19th century and displayed as part of their fund raising displays through the 1930’s.
