From the famed William Fagg Collection, terracotta, 6 1/4" height mounted on Plexiglas base to 6 3/4". Male, head and neck. The face with large oval eyes, broad nose, opened mouth and groomed beard. Roped edge cylindrical hat (old wear/chips). Light surface encrustation. William Fagg was the foremost authority and author on Yoruba culture and consultant to Christie's (London) Tribal Art department, through which this figure was purchased.
