Sara culture, southern Sahara. Described by Spring as "The shining Mystery" of African weapons. Variant form. See Spring #62 27" length with curved back terminating with a reverse hook. Elongated leaf shaped medial blade. While generally conforming to the above this example with both edges sharpened to both blades. Original forged finish with good glossy patina. It is stated that these could bring a man down at distance. Very rare. We have had only the present three and one other in 50 years!
