Rare variation, the skull and mounts of copper/bronze, possibly gilt overall originally. Domed skull of heavy fighting weight, chiseled in large arabesque panels surrounding Arabic calligraphy. Pairs of matching panels on base splays between. Sliding nasal flanked by plume holders, all with chiseled decoration. Matching top spike. Original cloth lining. Butted link iron camail in five elegant peaks. Total height, 21”. Fine patina throughout.
