VIKING HEART PENDANT NECKLACE, C.950-1050 AD

$255.00

Rare variation. Just over 7/8” (0.89”) width. The Viking heart in its fully developed form with central trefoil, a favorite Viking theme. Made by the open face mold technique with each of the three leaves are pierced through. That variation is unique to us. Substantial with high relief modeling. The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior. It is abundantly referenced in Viking literature. Surface lightly textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the silver overlay restored, on an 18” Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. Fine proud example.
