ROMAN EVIL EYE MYSTICAL RING, 1ST-3RD C. AD, SIZE 6 3/4

$220.00

Gilt bronze, size 6 ¾ with round face band, 2.0mm thick. Raised stepped bezel with paired concentric circles representing the evil eye, symbolizing the eye of those able to inflict harm with a malevolent gaze. Intended to protect the wearer against those empowered to do harm by their evil glance, a common theme in Roman pagan religion. This dual representation is very rare and an interesting insight into Roman Pagan mythology. Gilt bronze, well detailed. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
