Late 19th-early 20th century. Brass hilt with P form guard with spatulate langets. Wire wrapped synthetic (celluloid?) covered grip., usually age cracked, here complete undamaged and tight. 30 ¾” curved broad fullered blade, bright as new. Carl Eickhorn (est. 1865) maker’s mark to the ricasso. Blued steel scabbard with virtually all original bright finish. Exceptionally clean example with the aroma of original military preservative. About as good as they come.
