The skull of one piece with rolled edge brim. Hinged cheek pieces. The brim struck with the Nuremberg town mark and armorer‰۪s mark MS with scissors, the mark of Martin Schneider. The crest decorated with a splay of arms under a shield one side and a harp the other, and filled with foliage, all on gilt ground substantially intact. The skull, brim and base all with bands of matching decoration. Original brass plume holder. A fine example ex: J F R Winsbury Collection.
