C.4000 BC. Over 1 ½” length skillfully flaked to wedge section with uniform ridged back. The largest plane of each face forming the wedge, each of a single controlled fracture releasing a  single large flake and producing a sharp cutting edge. Owing to their simplicity, these were used for multiple tasks such as fleshing hides, and even producing sparks to start fires.
